Diana Heller is an MTNA Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in Piano and Florida State Certified Teacher of Music in Piano. She has been playing and studying the piano since the age of 10 and has mentored hundreds of students ages 4 - 18 in piano performance, music theory, music history, and keyboard skills. She was head choral accompanist through high school and college at U.Mass - Lowell where she earned the Bachelor of Music Education degree - Magma Cum Laude - and then the Master of Science in Education with concentration in Piano Pedagogy - Cum Laude - at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She maintains teacher certification with the Florida Department of Education K - 12 in Music Education, Elementary Education,and Reading.
Diana has trained many fine pianists at her private piano studio in Davie for over 45 years, and has taught music and the gifted program in several Dade and Broward public and private schools. Her award-winning students receive top evaluations and successfully compete in local and state events in Broward and Palm Beach County Music Teachers' Associations, FSMTA, MTNA, and the Federation of Music Clubs.
Students of Diana Heller receive a complete music education including performance of classical and modern works, aural and written theory, keyboard skills, and composition. Students have many opportunities to perform throughout the year in Studio Master Classes, Recitals, Evaluations, and Competitions. They enjoy ensembles with other students performing duets, duos, trios and quartets as well as concerto, patriotic, hymn and sight play events at local and state venues.
Diana specializes in developing the artistry of the musically and academically gifted student in grades K - 12. She has coached state competition winners since 1986, and in the past 21 years her students have won 99 - 1st place trophies in 75 events and 119 Honorable Mention Ribbons in 88 events. A total of 250 students who attended FFMC State Competitions have won 218 performance awards from 2003 -2024.
